Sedona Professionals, a business networking and referral group which aims to support and expand local businesses, met on Wednesday, February 3rd at Red’s Restaurant in the Sedona Rouge Resort.

Tom Brandvold of Oak Creek Mortgage gave an informative presentation about the advantages of using a mortgage broker, like himself, when seeking a real estate loan.  As a broker, Tom is able to shop for the best interest rate among many lenders and offers very competitive loan packages, with low closing costs.  Tom informed us that interest rates are the lowest they have been in a year!

Jenna Blasi, a naturopathic doctor gave a “personal” presentation.  Besides having a passion for helping people improve their health, Dr. Blasi has had a lifetime interest in stand-up comedy.  Earlier in her life, when she did not have a husband, child, and full-time naturopathic practice, she actually performed as a comedian.  And loved it!

Sally Gebler, massage therapist and owner of The Healing Power of Touch gave quite the interesting professional presentation. Sally talked about the positive effects of massage on the neurological system in the human body.  Not only does massage help us relax, but as we are touched in a healing way, our neurological system lets us know where we are holding tension.  Thus a massage, besides feeling good, also subtly triggers our brain to think about changes we might make to reduce our stress and increase our happiness.

Timon Pratt, owner of Studio Five, a website design and on-line promotion company, gave his “personal” presentation.  Timon talked about his recent visit to a wolf sanctuary, which takes in wolf hybrids that have been deserted by their owners.  His experience with the wolves was very moving and may lead to future volunteer work on their behalf.
